March 1975 - January 1979:

  • as a project manager/software engineer I made feasibility studies and ran development and implementation projects in several foreign subsidiaries of the company. All applications were administrative (batch and on-line capabilities) running on a central IBM mainframe (IBM370/140) with IDMS-DB and CICS linked to local DEC PDP11/70 equipment with RSTS/E or Nixdorf or Datapoint equipment.

What have I learned:

these were my first experiences in project management with a small team of developers. This was also my first international experience although that was limited to Brussels and Paris. It was very helpful for my command of the French language.
